Non Executive Chairman:  

David Hockman was first introduced to the music industry as a legal adviser for Dick James Music Limited in 1973 and Polygram Leisure Limited in 1975. Subsequently, he successively served as Managing Director of Polygram Music Video Limited, Channel 5 Video Distribution Limited and Polygram Video, all companies that he established between 1980 and 1986. Directly thereafter, Mr. Hockman was appointed Chief Executive Officer of PolyGram International Music Publishing Limited, mandated with building a major worldwide music publishing company from the ground up. Over 12 years, he acquired over 150 companies, including Dick James Music (Elton John), Sweden Music (Abba) and Island Music (Bob Marley). He also instituted subsidiaries in over 40 countries. By 1998, when it was acquired by Seagram, PolyGram Publishing was one of the five largest global publishing companies, with turnover in excess of $250,000,000 and profits of more than $40,000,000. In 1999, he was also responsible for building Edel's international music publishing group.   Mr. Hockman joined Sony in 2003, shortly after which he was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, a division that has doubled in profitability, steadily grown market share and has successfully migrated to a stand- alone entity following the merger of Sony with BMG Records. In the early 2000s he was elected to key industry Boards such as the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and The American Society of Songwriters, Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
